This review is from: Mediabridge Ultra Series – Dual Shielded Subwoofer Cable – RCA to RCA Gold Plated Pro Grade Connectors (8 Feet) (Electronics)
This cable is made of shielded RG6 coax cable with gold RCA ends. The ends fit snug and won’t rattle out of your sub or reciever. The sound quality is perfect. It is not the most flexible of cables but that shouldn’t really matter. You can’t beat them for the price. I’m happy. Don’t waist a ton of money on “premium cables” that will not sound any better.

“A cable is a cable,” you say? Well not this one. It surpasses your ordinary RCA cable by far. While most RCA cables plug in and remain relatively loose and… friction free, this cable grips the terminal very nicely. Thanks to the tighter connection with the terminal, there is a lot more friction which means that the cable is making contact and connecting much better than your standard RCA cable. Gold ends and double shielding to boot make this cable a great choice for a subwoofer cable for your new, or existing, home theater system.

agree with other reviewers… just the matter of inserting it first time, all set. But its not too big (only 8 ft) and not so flexible (its thick), so mobility is not great. But if you are 1 like me who will keep subwoofer in close proximity (as my home allows), it is for you… can’t beat the price. Sound quality is as good as 1 from best buy (dynex) which I returned as it costs double…

This review is from: Energy ESW-M8 NA 1200-Watt Subwoofer (Electronics)
I’ve been a huge audiophile for years. Up until recently, I’ve been exclusively a Polk Audio speaker guy. Earlier this year I was in the market for a great small speaker system and stumbled upon the Energy Take Classic. I bought it and purchased two extra satellites directly from Energy to turn the system into a 7.1 system. Wow, the crisp clarity of this speaker system was great, but I always wanted more bass.
Jump ahead a few months and I picked up the ESW-M8 to turn the system into a 7.2 system. This little sub made the perfect addition. The 1200 watt sub provides some serious boom to fill my open concept living room/kitchen/dining room. I have this sub sitting adjacent to the sub that came with the Energy Take Classic system, and while the sub that came with the system has a bit deeper bass, the ESW-M8 blends well and provides some very clear bass. Not boomy or muddy at all. It is also wireless ready so it will work with their new wireless attachment.
Highly recommended. If you’re in the market for a tiny sub to tuck away in a room with the sound capacity of a big guy, this is the one for you.
***Updated 9/25*** I think mine may be faulty. When setting this sub to auto, it’s supposed to auto-detect an incoming signal and turn on. When it’s on the blue light should illuminate, and when not receiving a signal it should should shut off. Except, when not receiving a signal, my blue light just blinks. This is contrary to what the manual says it should do. I will leave the review to 5 stars for now but may lower this later if its a faulty product.
***Updated 9/26*** After calling Energy this morning I learned that the pulsing is normal and appropriate. There was apparently a misprint in some number of manuals. So no emergency. If you use the auto setting, the blue light will not shut off when not receiving a signal, it will just pulse. Still very happy with this subwoofer.

This review is from: Energy ESW-M8 NA 1200-Watt Subwoofer (Electronics)
This is my first subwoofer and after having it for a couple of months I can say it sounds great. Tight bass that will get loud and big if you want it to. It’s amazing the ammount of bass that comes out of this small “cube”. It you want great, tight bass in a small package, this thing is perfect. Also the piano black finish looks great.

This review is from: Energy ESW-M8 NA 1200-Watt Subwoofer (Electronics)
Having used a pair of these ESW-M8 in conjunction with a pair of Bose L1 Compacts in small venue 50 – 100 person events as a mobile DJ, it provides a serious augmentation of additional low end punch to the audio which is perfect for Top 40 and hip hop selection thump without distortion or that chest crushing, ear ringing, over-amplified bass some prefer to inflict on their audiences. After almost 6 months of mobile use and dozens of events, it can be stated that they are rugged as well.
As an independent Bose pro-audio dealer, I was skeptical of these units at first, however now, to my customers who would like to take the L1 Compacts a little farther then they were intended to go, the ESW-M8 is its perfect little soul mate.
Special care is recommended for the exterior of the ESW-M8 enclosure. It is a highly polished plastic and will be easily scratched if not transported in a well cushioned bag or case.
The original price on these units was 0.00. At its current sale price here on Amazon, it is a great value as well.
